Apartment Review for Wood Springs - Birmingham, AL

My advise is to not rent an Apartment from Wood Springs. I lived there for 2 years (2007 - 2009) and had nothing but problems. When I first moved in the only complaint that I had was that the carpet needed to be replaces.. but it was in okay condition. Of course thru the years the carpet got worse. I ask on several occations to have the carpet replaced but was told no. It got to the point where I could not vaccume with out sucking up my carpet. It was coming away from the walls and it would bubble up in the center. In addition it had been patched in several places, which were coming up. I ended up having to put rugs down over the patches just to keeep them from coming up or being sucked up into the vaccum. Thru all my complaining nothing was done. In addtion to the carpet parking is a HUGE problem, be prepared to not park near your building or get blocked in. Noise is also a another problem, especially late at night. Maintenance is horriable, nothing ever gets fixed. I lived with a broken plug in the bathroom for a year, I had to blow my hair dry in my bedroom because the plug never got fixed. After all the trouble I had with them I was told at my walk thru that I would not be charge for the poor condition of the carpet because it needed to be replaced any ways.... don't believe anything they say they lie.. the move out inspection did not even show that I was being charged for it. But reguardless I was chared $125 for carpet patches.. patches.. the carpeted need to be removed and burned. It was horriable.. so needless to say Wood Springs is a horriable place to live and would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
