Apartment Review for Birmingham Building Trades Towers Inc - Birmingham, AL

Not a good place for anyone to live much less old folks and sick people. The residents are accosted and threatened DAILY by drug addicts, violent homeless people, junkies, and prostitutes. Security is NON-EXISTENT! They had a lady cop here for 4 hours a week a year or so ago but they're too cheap to pay her now. It's now late July and there has been NO air conditioning in the main common areas (elevators, hallways, downstairs meeting rooms or lobby for 4 months! The temperature often is 100+ degrees so you have to stay holed up like a rat (which are plentiful here too) in your tiny apt. constantly. Bugs and roaches everywhere, they often do not pay the garbage people so the dumpster is always overflowing and stinking. The staff consists of 1 guy who answers the phone, 1 office manager lady, 1 maintenance man, and 1 clean-up guy. (Maintenance & clean-up only work 3 days per week!) The office staff are rude, unhelpful, treat the old folks like they are stupid and contemptible and will not even provide residents with a statement of their accounts or receipts. Just google Emmanuel Ku slumlord to get the dirt on the building's owner! I would give them much less than one star in rating on every point but this site won't let me do that.
